A photograph of a door in The Forbidden City in Beijing was poorly transferred to a small canvas. The dropouts where the image didn't stick were painted red and things started to get interesting. The "medallion" was made from and aluminum ring connected to a gold shower curtain ring I bought in Bangkok. I used my favorite paint applicator, my fingers, to paint the sides a rich red.
