The beginning of this piece was the wooden backing. I roughly lined up a collection of round object ranging from a brass plate to aluminum heat sinks. A search for round plastic things led me to light up some of the results. The brass wings leapt out at me so they got to be in the piece, too. I draped it in burned silk organza but it never hung the way I wanted it to, so it was removed to show more of the encaustic finish applied to the wood. I didn't take a photo of it after that change. I know this image looks good but in reality it looked out of place. Trust me.
