ART that SOLD
The photograph was taken in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India. This image of an apsara (an angel-like being from both Hindu and Buddhist tradition) appeared at the side of a door to a residential home. Her face reminds me of some long-time friends’ daughter, Jessica; hence, the name. The laser-rpinted image was transferred with acrylic medium to the small canvas. I “illuminated” her wings with a construction of bent copper wire. The sides are finished in paper-like birch bark from a tree in our back yard. The disk is a goopy thing I made with clear acrylic medium and metal filings for a different piece. It didn't work. But it sure works here!
