The lighthouse on New Dungeness Spit along the Strait of Juan de Fuca near Sequim. Washington, has a rusting helipad that's been painted with a landing pattern. Starting with a photograph, transferred to canvas, of a small section of it, it brought to mind some kind of flag. I formed copper wire to conform to the lines mounted a cross-section of painted churro cactus in the corner.
